High definition liposculpture

High Definition Liposculpture is the latest trend in body contouring. For many years, plastic surgery has primarily focused on women, but High Def is just as relevant for men. The purpose of High Def Liposculpture is to achieve a more harmonious and athletic appearance.

Sculpting at an international top level

Trine Henriksen is the only surgeon in Scandinavia to have completed the exclusive Total Definer training in High Definition and Body Contouring for both men and women. This means that with us, you gain access to a unique combination of advanced techniques, aesthetic understanding, and surgical precision that only very few surgeons in the world master.

High Definition Plastic Surgery is not just liposuction – it is a targeted sculpting of the body, where your natural muscle contours are enhanced, and proportions are adjusted to create a harmonious, athletic result uniquely tailored to you.

We work with dynamic liposuction, precise carving, and advanced injection techniques to create both depth and shadow, accentuating the natural shape of the muscles. This makes it possible to sculpt the body into anything from a feminine S-curve to a masculine V-shaped silhouette.

  • For men: Sharper lines and deeper shadows are often created for a more defined and muscular look – for example, six-pack abs, a sculpted chest, and shoulders.
  • For women: Softer and more natural contours are often highlighted, supporting a harmonious and elegant figure.

We emphasize overall aesthetics: it’s not only about accentuating muscles but about creating a body that looks natural both in motion and at rest. Every detail – from symmetry to the transitions between muscle groups – is tailored to your wishes and body type.

The result is High Definition Body Contouring of international standard, performed with technical perfection, artistic sense, and extensive experience.

Masculine sculpting

The masculine body can be enhanced by contouring and accentuating the “alpha muscles” of the chest, abdomen, shoulders, and back with sharp shadows around the muscle groups. In some cases, it may be relevant to supplement with lipoinjection, for example for augmentation of the buttock region (BBL, see section) or removal of glandular tissue (gynecomastia surgery, see section).

Feminine contouring

The feminine body can be enhanced by creating a more defined waist and rounded hips. For women, it may also be relevant to combine this with breast surgery or a buttock lift/augmentation. For example, after pregnancy, it may be relevant to combine High Def Lipo with the removal of excess abdominal skin.

Other areas

Lipo HD can be used on the arms and legs to accentuate toned muscles. However, it is most performed as a full-body treatment. Depending on body type, fat distribution, and individual goals, the muscle contouring can be soft, moderate, or extreme.

In men, the typical focus areas include the abdominal muscles (abs), love handles, and pect. – sometimes combined with gynecomastia surgery (removal of glandular breast tissue) or Brazilian butt lift (BBL). In women, the most common focus areas are the abdomen, hips, arms, and thighs.

Based on the patient’s body composition, fat volume, and aesthetic goals, the contouring may range from a subtle enhancement of the silhouette and natural lines to more moderate or high-definition sculpting across multiple muscle groups, such as the abs, deltoids, pect, and triceps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about High Definition treatment.

What is the duration of the treatment?

A High Definition Liposculpture typically takes 4–6 hours, depending on how many areas are treated and how detailed the sculpting needs to be. The time includes preparation, surgery, and recovery. In some cases, an overnight stay is recommended.

Traditional liposuction removes fat to reduce volume and create a smoother contour. High Definition Liposculpture takes it a step further – here, the body is sculpted to enhance muscles and natural contours. The techniques can create athletic shapes, depth, and shadows, resulting in a sculpted appearance tailored to either a more masculine or feminine look.

• Individuals with a moderate amount of fat that does not disappear despite exercise and a healthy diet
• Patients who wish for more defined or harmonious body contours
• Individuals in good physical condition with a stable weight
• Patients with realistic expectations for the outcome

Typical areas include:

• Abdomen (six-pack or a flatter, more defined stomach)
• Chest (often more defined and sculpted in men)
• Waist and flanks (enhancing the V-shape in men and the S-curve in women)
• Back, shoulders, and upper arms
• Thighs and buttocks

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. Through small, strategically placed incisions, a cannula is inserted to remove fat with dynamic liposuction. The muscles are further sculpted using carving (shaping) and fat injections where desired, to create natural curves or defined lines. The entire process is tailored to your body shape and the look you wish to achieve.

Light daily activity can often be resumed after 1–2 weeks. Exercise and heavy physical work should be avoided for 4–6 weeks. Swelling and tenderness may persist for several weeks, and the final result is visible after 3–6 months, once the tissue has settled and the muscle contours become clearly defined.

The result can be long-lasting if you maintain a stable weight and continue a healthy lifestyle. Weight gain or loss of muscle mass may affect the appearance over time.

• Infection
• Bleeding or fluid accumulation
