Breast Reduction and Lift

At Sculpture by Trine Henriksen, we offer breast lifts and breast reductions for women whose breast shape or size does not harmonize with their body proportions or age. The indication may be a congenital developmental anomaly or changes after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or significant weight loss.

“I felt safe throughout the entire process, and the result was both natural and beautiful. I could not be more satisfied – definitely a recommendation from me.”

Harmonious and natural results

In a breast lift, an area of skin above the nipple is removed, after which the nipple is moved to a higher position while preserving its blood supply. The tissue beneath the nipple is shaped and lifted upward, giving the breast better volume and a more harmonious shape.
The procedure leaves a small scar around the nipple and a vertical scar beneath it.

In some cases, it is necessary to perform a breast reduction at the same time. Here, excess tissue is removed to reduce the size, and the breast is shaped and designed to achieve a better form and balance with the body. The scar is the same as with a breast lift, but the tissue removal contributes to a lighter and more harmonious result.

In some cases, the cosmetic result can be optimized with supplementary liposuction along the lateral fold.

The results are long-lasting but follow the body’s natural ageing process and are influenced by weight changes. In most cases, it is possible to breastfeed and maintain normal nipple sensation after a breast lift or breast reduction.

What is the difference between a breast lift and a breast reduction?

  • Breast lift: Lifts and reshapes the breast and corrects the position of the nipple without reducing the amount of tissue.
  • Breast reduction: Lifts and reshapes the breast while removing excess tissue to reduce the size.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about the treatment.

What is the duration of the treatment?

The operation typically lasts 2–3 hours, depending on the extent and whether both lift and reduction are performed.

• Breast lift: Lifts and reshapes the breast and corrects the position of the nipple without reducing the amount of tissue.

• Breast reduction: Lifts and reshapes the breast while removing excess tissue to reduce the size.

• Women with a breast shape or size that does not match their body proportions
• Individuals with congenital breast development disorders
• Women who have experienced changes after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss
• Patients with realistic expectations and good general health

The nipple is moved to a higher position while preserving blood supply. The tissue beneath the nipple is shaped upward to create volume. In a reduction, excess tissue is removed at the same time.

The procedure results in a small scar around the nipple and a vertical scar beneath it. Additional fat contouring can be performed to optimize the shape.

• Light daily activity: 1–2 weeks
• Physical activity/exercise: after 4–6 weeks
• Swelling and tenderness gradually subside over weeks to months
• The final result can be assessed after approx. 3–6 months

The results are permanent, but the breast will continue to follow natural ageing changes and be affected by weight fluctuations.

In the vast majority of cases, the ability to breastfeed as well as normal nipple sensation is preserved.

• Delayed healing
• Infection
• Bleeding or fluid accumulation
• Temporary or permanent changes in nipple sensation
• Asymmetry or need for correction
• Scars, which usually become less visible over time
