Natural restoration of volume, structure, and skin quality with fat injections is a minor but effective treatment that we offer either as a standalone procedure or as a supplement to, for example, our Deep Plane facelift.
Through fat transplantation using injections of your body’s own fat, we can restore volume and softness in the face in a natural, long-lasting, and gentle way – without the use of synthetic materials.
At Sculpture by, fat injections are performed by plastic surgeon Louise Vennegaard Mielke, who specializes in facial proportions, age-related changes, and advanced volume corrections. With Louise, the purpose of fat injection is to restore natural softness and harmony to your face with surgical precision and aesthetic consideration. Fat injections are a subtle and long-lasting solution when your face needs new energy – without losing its identity.
“I felt safe throughout the entire process, and the result was both natural and beautiful. I could not be more satisfied – definitely a recommendation from me.”

With age, the face loses its fullness – cheeks and jawline become flatter, the temples hollow out, and the lips lose volume. Skin firmness declines, and the overall expression may appear tired, sunken, or sagging – even despite good skincare and a healthy lifestyle.
Fat injections are a surgical technique in which the patient’s own fat is used to restore lost volume in the face. The fat is gently harvested from areas such as the abdomen or thighs, purified, and then strategically injected with fine needles into the selected areas.
The treatment can:
Restore natural fullness in the cheeks, temples, and under the eyes
Soften pronounced transitions between facial zones – e.g., corners of the mouth and chin fold
Improve facial proportions
Smooth fine lines and wrinkles – especially around the cheekbones and mouth
Enhance skin quality and elasticity over time
Fat grafting is often used as a supplement to surgical facelifts – but it can also stand alone as an independent, non-tightening rejuvenation. Because the fat is your own living tissue, it integrates with your facial tissue and ages naturally with you. A significant portion of the fat will remain permanently, and in many cases, the skin’s structure also improves – as fat tissue contains regenerative stem cells.
This treatment is suitable for you if you:
Have lost facial volume due to age, weight loss, or genetics
Want a softer and more youthful appearance
Do not want or cannot tolerate fillers and prefer a more permanent treatment
Have realistic expectations and desire balanced facial harmony
The treatment is individually tailored to your facial structure and your aesthetic goals.

The treatment is often performed under general anesthesia, depending on the extent. First, fat is harvested through gentle liposuction, typically from the abdomen, thighs, or flanks. The fat is then purified and separated, and the living fat cells are injected with great precision into strategic layers and areas of the face. The entire procedure usually takes 1–2 hours.
After the operation, you will be monitored and allowed to rest briefly at our hospital and can usually go home the same day or the following day.
Yes – because it is your own tissue, the result is perceived as a natural part of your face. Facial expressions are fully preserved, and the result ages harmoniously with you.
There will be swelling and possibly bruising in the treated areas. Most people feel presentable again after 7–10 days. The donor area (e.g. the abdomen) will also be slightly sore for a few days. The final result can be assessed after about 3–4 months, when the transplanted fat has stabilized.
Fat cells that survive become a permanent part of the facial tissue. Approximately 60–80% of the injected fat is expected to remain permanent – the rest is naturally absorbed. The durability is therefore long and can in many cases be lifelong, though influenced by weight changes, age, and lifestyle.
Yes – if the desired volume is not achieved the first time, the treatment can be repeated. Some choose a follow-up treatment after 6–12 months to fine-tune the result.
Absolutely. Fat injections often provide the most beautiful effect as a supplement to, for example, Deep Plane Facelift, Ponytail Lift, or lip lift. The combination enhances the overall impression and creates a more balanced and youthful result.
